
Project Description
This project focuses on strengthening the role of the DBAR International Centre of Excellence (ICoE) in Bangkok through strategic planning and innovative approaches to SDG research and monitoring. It aims to address critical data and knowledge gaps, build regional networks, enhance capacity, and conduct integrated assessments of SDG progress at the provincial level in Thailand. The research methodology includes data screening, stakeholder and expert consultations, collaborative data gap filling, spatial and temporal analysis, and the creation of a robust integrated assessment framework.
Objectives of the whole program:
- To consolidate the administrative and dissemination functions of DBAR ICoE-Bangkok
- To continuously identify the knowledge gaps and needs in applying Big Data in support of Thailand’s SDG progress through supporting innovative research
- To strengthen the professional networks in Thailand and across the Asia-Pacific regions on SGD progress monitoring, assessment and reporting using multi-sources Big Data.
Objectives of Cluster Projects:
- Attain a comprehensive understanding of data availability in Thailand through critical review of international, regional, and local open-sourced data products
- Identify and fill crucial data gaps by utilizing Earth Observation-based big data products in Thailand.
- Propose a framework with applicable indicators for provincial-level SDG progress assessment in Thailand.
- Conduct multi-dimensional (i.e., spatial, temporal, and featural) assessments of SDG progress in Thailand at the provincial scale.
- Provide an integrated rating of SDG progress in Thailand at the provincial level.
